Questions farmers and buyers ask us
How do I get paid?
The buyer pays into escrow before your produce is loaded. When they confirm delivery, the money is released to your account, minus Agromate's commission, which you see before you accept the trade.
Do I need a smartphone?
Agromate works in the browser of any Android or iPhone, and stays light on slow networks. Cooperative leads and field agents can also list on behalf of farmers. Access from basic phones by USSD is planned.
How do buyers know the produce is good?
Every listing shows its grade, variety and location, and the seller's verification and trade record. Buyers inspect the load at delivery before they release payment.
Which states can I trade in?
The pilot covers the main food belts: Benue, Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and the FCT. Buyers anywhere in Nigeria can order from them.
What happens if a delivery goes wrong?
The money stays in escrow until the problem is settled, so neither side loses out while Agromate looks into it.
